It was a great finish at Turner Field as the Loafing Legends pulled off a
dramatic comeback beating the Falls Lake Fire Ants by the count of 4 to
2.
Loafing won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 3
runs utilizing 3 base hits. Pedro Feliz led off and keyed the rally when he
lined a one-base hit. So Taguchi was the next batter, but he struck out.
Conor Jackson then stroked a base-hit. Yorvit Torrealba was up next and he
belted a three-run homer (his 1st of the season) giving Loafing the victory
and sending the 29,292 home-town fans home happy. Falls Lake was out-hit by
Loafing, 10 hits to 5.
Adam Wainwright(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an
inning. Billy Wagner(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. Loafing's
manager was in great spirits in his post-game interview. Yet, when asked
about his feelings after the thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered,
'I'll tell you this much - I know how my counterpart, James Galloway, feels
right now - and it's not very good. It's terrible when you come up on the
short end of one of these!'
